Spiraldynamik® –
3D strength and flexibility training

This course is about the implementation of Spiraldynamik® principles and alignment in one’s own body, taking into account the necessary strength and flexibility.

Participation in a Workshop on a special topic – e.g. “3D Stable Pelvis” – is not a prerequisite, but facilitates the implementation of the instructions in the exercises.

Each week, the course focuses on a specific topic, such as the outer spiral of the scapula in supporting, stable heel in walking and standing, etc. The focus is on the whole body. Overall, the focus is on alignment throughout the body, i.e., movement coordination from head to toe with respect to our archaic movement patterns of walking, bracing, and hand-to-mouth.

I take into account the needs and wishes of my participants. Sensitive, respectful and with a lot of humor I support them in the exercises and always see the individual situation. Materials such as Theraband, Sensyballs, small Pilates balls etc. offer the possibility to design exercises creatively and individually.

Spiraldynamics®
– Medical Yoga

Medical Yoga is not a new style of yoga, but mainly includes the combination of Spiraldynamik® and Hatha Yoga, regardless of the yoga style (Asthanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa Flow or others). So it’s all about clear and meaningful alignment in the asanas. Each asana has a focus and effects on the physical level, but at the same time has effects on the mental-spiritual level. For me, the functional-sensible and clear alignment is an essential prerequisite to make all effects possible.

Here is an example:

Vrksasana (Tree): One of the one-legged asanas, this asana internalizes the connection to the earth (rootedness) and the sky (opening), and – with proper alignment – allows for a high level of calm and serenity. And that needs the clear alignment on the stance leg side: outer spiral of the hip bone. This brings grounding and stability and allows the thoracic head to become mobile/free upward. If, on the other hand, I sink in on the standing leg side, I lose not only physical stability, but at the same time grounding and the possibility of opening upward to heaven. Tension elsewhere in the body is often the result.

I support with a lot of clarity, empathy and humor and take into account the individual characteristics. Aids, such as blocks, straps, bolsters, etc., in my eyes primarily offer the possibility to customize asanas and support you. If you want to learn more about the alignments in the body, I recommend you to attend one of my Workshops workshops.

“In April 2018, I started having severe pain in my right forefoot. After consulting several orthopedists (including podiatrists) whose treatment approaches ranged from complete immobilization, to various orthotics, taping, cortisone injections, shock wave therapy, to surgery, I looked into alternative medicine. But also osteopathy, acupuncture & Co. did not bring the desired success. It wasn’t until I came across Spiraldynamik® and thus Andrea Ott’s courses that something finally seemed to change. The pain is not completely gone even after three years. What I did manage to do, however, with Andrea’s help, was to develop a feeling at my feet. And especially in relation to the rest of the body (especially the pelvis and shoulder). A form of movement intelligence that I had not known before. From the initial 500 m that I was able to walk in the summer of 2018, I am now again able to do hikes up to 20 km without my feet hurting more than with normal exertion. For that, I am immensely grateful to Andrea and her formative teaching!”
