What is Spiraldynamik®?
I hear this question time and time again when participants, clients,
ask me about my training or the foundation of my work.
Terms such as physiotherapy, yoga, Qi Gong or Pilates are familiar to many people today and they know what is behind them: therapeutic treatment of structural problems, improvement of mobility and strength, deep stability, centering, relaxation and reduction of stress states and the desire to achieve physical well-being.
So is Spiraldynamik® a completely new, revolutionary method that’s guaranteed to fulfill all these wishes and automatically free us from all physical ailments? No, it isn’t! This explanatory video briefly but very clearly shows
exactly what Spiraldynamik® is.

So is Spiraldynamik® a completely new, revolutionary method that’s guaranteed to fulfill all these wishes and automatically free us from all physical ailments? No, it isn’t! This explanatory video briefly but very clearly shows
exactly what Spiraldynamik® is.
Spiral Dynamics is an anatomically based movement concept in which the focus is on three-dimensional, functional movement.
When humans or their predecessors straightened up during evolution and changed from quadrupeds to bipeds, all structures adapted to these new gravity conditions. The greatest changes within the musculoskeletal system occurred in the pelvis and feet. In the end, however, all adaptations on the way to the biped have ensured that man can (continue to) move dynamically-stably on two legs in the gravitational field. Economic, functional and precise movement – regardless of whether in everyday life, leisure or work – therefore has much less to do with muscle size, i.e. strength or mobility, but primarily with clear alignment and organization of the movement system in the movement.
The founders of spiral dyamics Christian Larsen (Swiss doctor) and Yolande Deswartes (French physiotherapist) have created a movement guide from head to toe that shows exactly this clear organization. The knowledge of this evolutionary-biological-intelligent orientation is THE basic knowledge for all movement educators and therapists, in order not only to be able to instruct movement sensibly, but also to be able to approach complaints of the musculoskeletal system causally and to “treat” them sensibly. The holistic analysis (static and dynamic AND from head to toe) of the given physical situation is followed step by step by reorganization. Always with the requirement to strategically take the “right” first step, but always with the overall goal and total body organization in mind. And this requires the unconditional willingness of the person to actively participate in the movement work on their own body, to get involved. And I can say it’s worth it!

Evolution
Spiraldynamik® is an evolutionary biology-based view of the functional anatomy and biomechanics of the human body.

Head to toe
The analysis is always about the ACTUAL state of the whole body and the current situation of the person.

Quality before quantity
The bodywork and exercises are primarily about developing movement qualities and integrating them into the function at hand (walking, jogging, yoga, etc.).

“While searching for a trainer with Spiraldynamik® experience, I came across Andrea. The collaboration was a complete success, as my complaints when walking /lowered foot and resulting imbalances in the hip) were drastically reduced. I was particularly enthusiastic about the careful analysis and the attention to particularities that one feels on one’s own body. The tailored answers and exercise instructions, combined with a very good conversation offer, motivate to work on these out-of-balance body parts. Respect for the body and the individual situation retain great priority. I can imagine that Andrea can help very many “hopeless” cases. That’s why I have recommended it so far without reservation. 5 stars!”

“I’ve been taking Andreas’s classes since 2005—first at the gym and then outside of it as well. I appreciate Andreas’s fresh and cheerful demeanor, her precise and supportive guidance, and her professional eye for proper form. Through Spiraldynamik®, she fosters a lasting awareness of how the body functions, and that has helped me develop a better sense of my own body. By moving more mindfully, my back and knee problems have improved significantly, and I enjoy the improved posture and clear body awareness that have developed for me over time. I highly recommend Andreas’s classes—they’re good for you and a lot of fun!”
